A persona history by art critic Jeanine WARNOD with memories of her father illustrator and writer André WARNOD (1885-1960) a film by Michel PATIENT
65' - English subtitles
Art critic Jeanine Warnod recalls Parisian cultural life in the 20th century, in interviews illustrated with material from her personal archives, including her father’s drawings.
She evokes artists, writers, and poets from her parents’ circle, including Picasso, Chagall, Zadkine, Apollinaire, Max Jacob, Mac Orlan, and Dorgelès, with anecdotes about them and the places that they frequented: Le Lapin Agile, Le Bateau-Lavoir, La Ruche.
Her father, André Warnod, illustrator and chronicler of Montmartre, coined the term ‘"L'Ecole de Paris" in 1925 to refer to – and to advocate for – foreign-born and French artists who together formed an artistic community.
